Discover painting exhibitions
Because in the mountains you can enjoy more than just hiking or water sports, we invite you to take a journey into the world of colors. In Curtea de Argeș, approximately 25 kilometers from Poiana Mucenicului, in the city where the imposing Curtea de Argeș Monastery stands, you can enjoy painting exhibitions featuring local artists and beyond. The Municipal Museum of Curtea de Argeș, as well as the Norocea House, the memorial house of Dumitru Norocea, host painting exhibitions, whether temporary or permanent, and even photography or contemporary art exhibitions.
Built in the years 1922-1923, Norocea House hosts, on the upper floor, a collection of paintings created by Dumitru Norocea, a painter and fresco restorer. He was also the first person in Romania to create mosaics. The collection also includes works by anonymous painters from the Argeș region. You can delight here for a few dozen minutes with vividly colored paintings or church paintings from Tuesday to Sunday.
Very close to Norocea House is the Municipal Museum, which serves as the temporary home for various art openings and painting exhibitions, featuring both local artists and those from the surrounding Argeș area. Additionally, for those interested in art, a gallery of personalities from Argeș is in preparation, featuring a series of oil portraits depicting individuals who have made a mark on history through their work. In addition, the museum organizes a salon every season where works by various artists are exhibited.
If you are an art lover and want to discover local artists from the Argeș area, you should visit the tourist attractions in Curtea de Argeș.
